Grinda wasn't your ordinary stay-at-home female dwarf. Wild and rambunctious, she often went on solo visits to local orc settlements, returning with an dismembered limb or head of an unfortunate orc to display in her room. Her father often lamented how she never took to knitting, which had been the family's master skill of craft for generations. They soon reached a compromise, however: Grinda could go on her excursions, provided that she brought back a surplus of wool for the family to use.

This piece came about when challenged me to draw a dwarven female in battle - it's really out of character for me to draw bloody scenes of war, so there's not really much violence here! Orcs, much regrettably, are completely out of my skill range to depict. But it was really fun working on this though - brought back fond memories of WoW where I'd used to join raids on enemy town centres and get my ass handed back to me.

Dwarves' heads are tougher than stone. Maybe that's why it's so hard to get new ideas through them!
